This is not a formal group and anyone is welcome to come along, beginners being especially welcome.

The walks are held monthly from October until May on a Wednesday morning. We meet in the Lee Valley Park car parks at Fishers Green, Cornmill Meadows or Barbeque Area and Showground
(A121 between Waltham Cross and Waltham Abbey).

Each walk lasts for about 3 hours and covers a distance of approximately 3 to 4 miles.
We normally see about 40 species on each walk and the total seen during the programme is usually about 90 species. Highlights are Bittern, Smew, Goosander and Goldeneye during the winter and Nightingales and warblers during the spring.

Please Note:-

  • Booking is essential - places are limited
  • No dogs, (or cats) on any walks
  • A donation of £3 is collected on the day and passed on to the
Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.

If any U3A member is interested in the monthly walks please e-mail Terry and request a programme by "clicking" on TERRY
